N2 - High power, passively modelocked quasi-continuous wave Nd:YLF laser with feedback for Q-switch and spike suppression was presented. An intracavity acousto-optic Q-switch was used to modulate the laser loss in response to laser spiking. A strain-compensated, InGaAs/GaAsP double quantum-well saturable Bragg-reflector facilitated passive mode-locking. It was found that with a 20% output coupler, 1.28 W average output power was obtained, which decreased to 1.25 w with stabilization.
