High-efficiency deep-etched apodized focusing grating coupler with metal back-reflector on an InP-membrane

Abstract

We demonstrate a deep-etched TE grating coupler on a high-confinement InP membrane platform. Results show these gratings feature a high fiber coupling efficiency of 75% at 1525 nm wavelength.
