Abstract

The heat transfer was studied on a large vertical tube bundle (19 tubes) immersed in spent cracking catalyst fluidized bed. Heat transfer measurements were performed with only 1 tube, in which 10 elec. heating elements were mounted, at 3 different positions and at superficial gas velocity of 0.40 m/s. The heat transfer is not only detd. by the bubble activity but is strongly affected by the dense phase overall circulation induced by the rising bubbles which tend to move to the center of the bed
