Abstract

The rate of equilibration of a H-D mixt. over Ag catalyst films in the absence of O decreases with increasing coverage of the surface with K. Addn. of O (approx. 1 monolayer) prior to the addn. of K increased the rate const. This increase in activity is due to the promotion of the catalytic activity of K by O as was demonstrated by expts. done in the absence of Ag
