Abstract
In 2001, the review committee observed that Dutch students nowadays already are standing with one foot across the border while they still are doing their studies. They have grown up and live in a globalized world. When they graduate, the first question asked at the reception after the diplomas are awarded is not: Where are you planning to work, do you al ready have a job? But: Where are you going? Because once they graduate, what lures many of them is the familiar - and for the present generation almost obligatory - trip around the world.
Clearly, the educational system will have to go along with today’s student, the student who thinks that the Netherlands is too small but at the same time also knows that when it comes to architecture, the Netherlands is not such a very small country after all - and in fact is a country where architecture has even been made into a cultural industry and export article.
