Abstract

An extensive theoretical approach for fast natural-gas analysis has been given. A system is described that allows natural-gas analysis (up to C6) within 6 minutes. A single capillary column Poraplot Q is used in combination with thermal conductivity detection (TCD). Problems encountered are insufficient repeatability of the qualitative results and column instabilities due to the extreme carrier gas flows used in the experiments.
