Abstract
Reaction of 2,3-dihydrooxepin (I) with KNH2 in liq. NH3 yields, as revealed by NMR spectroscopy, the trans-2,cis-3,trans-4,cis-5-7-oxaheptatrienyl anion, which is of fair configurational stability. The barriers for rotation in the oxaheptatrienyl anion are discussed. [on SciFinder (R)]
