Abstract

The field dependence of TN has been measured in a series of pseudo-one-dimensional Heisenberg systems with a varying degree of one dimensionality for magnetic fields up to 90 kOe. In all cases an anomalous increase of TN was found. The results are compared with detailed numerical calculations on the basis of the isotropic classical Heisenberg model.
