Abstract

Parallel ux switching machines (PFSM) come forward in automotive industry as a promising candidate for hybrid truck applications due to their high power density. Torque calculations, i.e cogging and electromagnetic, are important features of these machines, which require a ??nite element model (FEM) with a long simulation time for the transient analysis. This work shows how this simulation time could be minimized by employing the superposition principle for torque calculations.
