Abstract

The properties of UV-curable polyetherurethane and poly(dimethyl-co-methylphenyl) siloxane primary buffer coatings have been compared in relation to their chemical structures. The benefits of the appropriate composition with respect to fibre drawing speed and performance are ultra-fast curing, low operation temperatures and high mechanical stability.
