Abstract
The far infrared transmission spectra of the quasi one-dimensional Ising-like system CoCl2 dipyridine have been measured in the range of 10–60 cm-1. Spincluster excitations as well as spincluster resonance have been observed as a function of field and temperature. The field- and temperature dependence of frequency and intensity have been interpreted on the basis of a pure Ising model, implemented, in first order, with the effect of transverse exchange elements.
