Abstract

A digital resolution enhancer combined with clipping is experimentally validated by transmitting single channel 600 Gb/s 64- QAM and WDM 460 Gb/s 128-QAM over 75km, allowing to reduce the DAC’s physical number of bits to 3. Low resolution DACs will play an important role in low-power transmitters.
