Abstract
A Cheng cycle cogeneration plant consists of a steam injected gas turbine (STIG) and a heat recovery steam generator. Such a plant can produce both process steam as well as electricity at an adjustable ratio. We have investigated the theoretical modeling of the drum boiler part of the Cheng Cycle. By validation with measured data of an industrial Cheng Cycle Plant, we found that this model captures the essential system dynamics. The data were obtained under normal operating conditions, and a part of the input signal had to be reconstructed
