Abstract

Strain localization and failure behavior of short glass fiber-reinforced polypropylene (SGFPP) [Azdel PD3243, GE Plastics Europe] plates, were studied on compact tension (CT) specimens using the Hentschel Random Access Tracking system. The displacements measured in the process-zone were used to compute the transient strain fields during the entire loading process. Anal. of these results reveals reliable conclusions towards the local elastic and failure behavior of SGFPP
