    Abstract

This paper introduces a through experience flow study wherein the participants are followed throughout their groceries, cooking and eating activities to map out their experiences. The goal is to help a couple to understand their experiences in preparing a challenging meal and at the same time, keeping a low sodium diet. The ultimate goal is to develop dietary tools that can support the self-management of chronic patients. This work helps us to gain new insights to develop further three design concepts (e.g., a cooking utensil to track sodium intake, a spectrometer device to measure the nutritional content of foods and tableware to measure food whilst serving or eating). We describe the method adopted, and the results are discussed.
