Abstract
A discussion of the contributions by two Dutch architects, Happel Cornelisse Verhoeven and Monadnock, to the current architectural practise in the Netherlands. The work of these architects is discussed as a 'third' position next to traditionalist and modernist approaches, where the architectural design consciously takes clues from the spatial and historical context, and is a deliberate development of these.
