    Abstract

This paper addresses the error control measures necessary for the support of Broadband-ISDN services by ATM-based millimetre wave indoor radio LANs. It occurs that the error control capability accommodated by standard ATM as applied in fibre-based networks is insunicient for the radio LAN under consideration. A sufficient improvement can however be achieved by applying simple-to-implement error control measures provided that dual antenna diversity is applied.
