Abstract

1The synthesis of block copolymers combining enzymic ring opening polymn. and ATRP in one pot employing a bifunctional initiator are described. Detailed investigations of the reaction conditions show the influence of water on the block copolymer yield. Moreover, the effect of ATRP catalysts systems strongly depends on the metal: no influence on the reaction kinetic of the enzymic reaction was obsd. for CuBr/PMDETA, whereas (PPh3)2NiBr2 reversible reduces the enzyme activity.
