Abstract
An intensified charge coupled device camera was used together with high resolution imaging optics to obtain spatially and temporally resolved measurements of emission from a microdischarge. These images clearly show the evolution of the discharge through one discharge cycle. The spatial resolution of the imaging system was 8 µm, and the temporal resolution was 3 ns.
