Abstract

Ellipsometry was used to study the electrodeposition of Cu on Pt from an acid sulfate bath, the electrodeposition of Ni on glassy C from a NiSO4-NaCl-H3BO3 bath, and the growth of an anodic film on NiCo2 alloy in KOH soln. The change in the electrocatalytic properties of the NiCo2 alloy with different pretreatment for O evolution is discussed. During oxidn. of NiCo2, a 2-layer oxide is formed; the 1st film appears to be poorly conducting and the 2nd top film has a higher cond. [on SciFinder (R)]
