    Abstract

In 1984 a combined Dutch effort was started to realize the integration of three types of patient information inside a hospital; text, numerical data and images. Image data will be handled by the Image Information System (IMAGIS), coupled to the operational Hospital Information System. This paper gives an outline of the authors' intentions concerning the main system components.
