Abstract

The interplay between inter- and intra-chain charge transport in the conjugated polymers poly(p-phenylene vinylene) (PPV), and polythiophene (PTh) has been investigated. By studying the conductivity as a function of frequency, temperature and doping level, we clearly observe a doping induced cross-over from 1D to 3D in PTh. The data in PPV show 3D behavior at all concentrations. These differences are explained and values for the hopping parameters are derived.
