Abstract
While radiation is important in heat transfer in glass melts. it is generally not
accounted for in forming processes. Omission of radiative heat transfer stems from the fact
that present computational models are either inaccurate or computationally expensive. In this article we study how to make the Algebraic Ray Trace Method, which is one of the accurate but expensive approaches. more attractive by using a decomposed domain. It is shown that a reduction of complexity can be obtained without the additional computational effort usually associated with such an approach.
