Diversity systems for mobile communication inside a highly reflective room

Research output: Contribution to journalArticleAcademicpeer-review

Abstract

In this paper, wave propagation inside a highly reflec tive room is studied. The electromagnetic fields are described by Green’s functions which are derived for a perfectly conducting room with two lossy, dielectric walls. Furthermore, the interac tion between the electromagnetic fields and the receiving prop erties of the antenna system is described rigorously by means of the Lorentz reciprocity theorem. In this way, the port voltage of a receiving antenna system is obtained in an observation plane of the room. The port voltage is used to investigate the signalto- noise ratios and the bit error rates of various DECT diversity systems in great detail.
