Abstract

Currently, the energy system is transforming in an unprecedented manner due to decentralization and decarbonization. A third clear development is so-called sector coupling, which refers to the growing interdependency of the electricity, heat/cooling, and transport sectors caused by overlapping infrastructure and using storable energy sources.
