Abstract

In this paper we discuss the beauty of and in organizations. The field of aesthetics in organization studies largely deals with the aesthetics of material artifacts in or around organizations or produced by them. We are interested in the intrinsic beauty of organizations and their work processes and in the possible relation between such beauty and performance. We are also interested in ways to design, develop and sustain the beauty of and in organizations. Literature in this direction is still rather scarce. This conceptual paper intends to contribute to a definition of a research agenda for developing aesthetic knowledge that can be used to design, create and sustain beautiful organizations.
