Abstract

In this paper, an end-fire antenna array for mobile user equipment, using substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology and targeting the n257 and n258 5G frequency bands is proposed. Two rows of meta-surfaces are used to match the SIW to free-space. The final design of the single element has a bandwidth of 27%, covering 23.75 GHz to 31.25 GHz. The simulated array, consisting of eight elements, has a gain of 10.4 dBi and is able to scan up to ±55° at 24.25 GHz.
