Abstract
A derivation is presented to predict the chilled water return temperature in part load for a simplified situation, specific for the case of an constant air entering temperature of a cooling coil. This result is extended to a heat exchanger characteristic. It is shown that this characteristic can only be concave or linear in the limit situation. The heat exchanger characteristic of an cooling coil for a constant air leaving temperature and a constant air entering temperature are combined in 1 graph. It shows that also for corrected waterside balanced systems an overflow can occur.
