Abstract

Generalized definitions of the invariance, (partial) sufficiency and ancillarity principles are given in a measure-theoretic context. Data reduction in statistical inference is described in terms of these principles. Key words and phrases: Invariance, sufficiency, ancillarity, data reduction.
