Abstract

Pd/ZnO nanowire catalysts were made by chemical vapour deposition onto a ZnO seed layer deposited onto a Si substrate followed by impregnation. The catalysts showed alkene selectivity of up to 95% at the alkyne conversion of 99.5% in the hydrogenation of 2-methyl-3-butyn-2-ol at 323-343 K and a pressure of 5 bar.
