Abstract
The random phase errors in the antenna aperture caused by tropospheric turbulence are put in a form such that existing theories for the analysis of reflector antennas with random surface errors can be used to determine the antenna pattern degradation. Some computed results are presented and discussed, indicating the practical circumstances in which tropospheric turbulence may influence the polarisation purity of reflector antennas.
