Abstract

We find in simulations and experiments of 2x10Gbit/s POLMUX WDM signals that XPM-induced depolarization limits these signals’ nonlinear tolerance and transmission performance. Furthermore the nonlinear penalty is only weakly influenced by the inter-channel wavelength spacing.
