Abstract

CP/MAS 13C n.m.r. spectra and 13C spin-lattice relaxation times (T1) of solid polyamide-6 (Ny-6) have been observed. The effect of sorbed water, fast cooling of the Ny-6 melt and addition of ethylene-vinyl alcohol (EVOH) copolymer to Ny-6, respectively, on the spectra and the T1 values have been investigated. Sorbed water did not affect the spectra and the T1 values significantly. However, differences could be observed between the spectra and T1 values of Ny-6 powder, Ny-6 film and Ny-6 in the blends.
