Abstract

Here we report on an experimental study of driven vertical oscillations of dust particles levitating in the plasma sheath. We present the first observation of counter-phase oscillations of particles with different mass as well as an observation of a particle not affected by the power modulation. The analysis of the equation of motion of the particle at rest shows that at its position the electric field does not change with power. A sheath model showing agreement with the experiment is presented.
