Abstract
We refined our knowledge classification and indexing approach applied in our previously developed system AIMS (Agentbased Information Management System) by introducing ontology-oriented support for cooperative courseware authoring. In order to provide a basis for formal semantics and reasoning in performing generic authoring tasks, we add ontology-based
layers in the courseware authoring architecture. Ontological structuring also opens the way for cooperative authoring, (e.g., re-usage), setting the basis for authoring collaboration.
