Abstract
We present a compact, low-power, high-speed indium phosphide (InP) based microdisk modulator heterogeneously integrated on a silicon-on-insulator (SOI) waveguide. We demonstrate bit-error rates below 1×10-9 and open eyes up to 10 Gb/s and compare the with a commercial modulator.
