Abstract

A simple method to prepare cholesteric colour filters for LCDs is presented. It comprises photo-induced colour change followed by photo-polymerisation, which results in colour filters with excellent thermal and UV stability. Double-layer samples with good optical properties have been made for application in transmissive LCDs.
