Abstract

Optically active (1S)-2,4-adamantanedione-4-18O (I) was prepd. by the route for chiral adamantanones. The 18O label is introduced in the final step by thermal decompn. of the 1,2-dioxetane-18O, prepd. by irradiating an enol ether in an atm. of 18O. The CD spectrum of I shows several bands of large amplitude. [on SciFinder (R)]
