Abstract

A review with 9 refs. The effect of process parameters and microstructure of preforms, on infiltration time, and relative composite d. was studied. High homogeneous composite d. does not coincide with high infiltration rates.,. Three-point bending strength of the composites indicated plastic fracture characteristics as long as the fiber-matrix interface was optimal. Addnl., some general properties and applications of the composites are presented. [on SciFinder (R)]
