Abstract

The essential oil of the flowers of Alpinia chinensis Rose. of Vietnamese origin has been analYLed by a combination of high resolution GC and GC/MS. About 30 components have been identified, of which (E,E)-a-farnesene (26 .. 5%), a-humulene (22.3%), f3-bisabolene (17.1%) and [3-earyophyllene (13.1 %) were found to be the major compounds.
