Abstract
In the paper, an overview of the results of the round robin run by CEN Technical Committee 184, Working Group 3 and extended to VAMAS nations is given. This round robin was designed to reveal the scatter in the determination of a phase volume fraction and/or porosity in multiphase advanced technical ceramics and provide a possible confidence level that can be used in the citation of results. Both manual and automatic image analysis methods were used to determine the phase volume fraction and/or porosity.
