Abstract

The semicontinuous title process was conducted in a fixed bed reactor packed with montmorillonite (I) grains. The effects of, e.g., temp. (.apprx.200-50 Deg), catalyst diam., H2O content in the oleic acid, and space velocity, on the yield were detd. The activity of I decreased slowly in each run. The process was comparable to the batch process used com. [on SciFinder (R)]
