Abstract

Semiconductor lasers subject to optical injection are known to produce a large variety of dynamical behavior including complex and chaotic dynamics. We study bifurcations of chaotic attractors and show that they may abruptly change from one type to another, or even suddenly disappear. An example of a sudden transition from a chaotic attractor to periodic dynamics is presented
