    Abstract

This article describes automatic registration of the position of a number of shafts which can be rotated stepwise or continuously. A potentiometer is coupled to the continuously rotatable shaft and in case of stepwise rotation there are switches coupled to the shift. The electric data representing the position of the shaft are fed to the input of an electric printer, in our case the ADDO-x, which can print 9 characters per line. For the registration of a 10-position switch one character is needed; for a potentiometer, the position of which can be digitalised according to the required definition, 3 characters are required. Any desired combination of switches and potentiometers is pussible up to 9 characters per line.
