Abstract
Even though heterogeneous polymns. have been used in industry for more than 50 years, these polymn. systems are not fully understood yet due to their high-degree of complexity and to the considerable no. of reaction parameters involved in the processes. The feasibility of performing different heterogeneous polymns. in com. automated parallel synthesizers is discussed in this work. For this purpose, emulsion polymns. have been investigated at different reactions conditions utilizing mech. stirred tank reactors of a parallel synthesizer. The obtained results have shown the reproducibility of the app. Thus, it is thought that the application of combinatorial and high-throughput techniques to heterogeneous polymn. processes may speed up fundamental research in the field, the optimization of related processes as well as the development of new polymeric materials.
