Abstract

Based on a discriminating method and composed Fourier analysis, a new and systematic approach is proposed to derive arbitrary point transient response for distributed RLC model of interconnect with a step input. This solution is obtained for time-domain response of a finite interconnect line, considering initial voltage thorough the line. An accuracy of over 99.5% is observed for the expressions compared to the HSPICE simulations for at most a number of several ten sinusoidal terms of Fourier series. The proposed method is extended to semiinfinite distributed RLC interconnects for which exact closed-form expressions are achieved.
