Abstract

This paper discusses some approaches to generate real-rational, proper, and stable transfer function matrix representations for WCU (worst-case uncertainty) data resulting from $\mu$-analysis. This approximation problem is of interest in the case one wants to incorporate a description of the WCU into the plant to-be-analyzed, to assess the worst-case behavior of the system. Another application is in a certain approach to sensor/actuator selection. The main problem is that we require a real-rational, proper, and stable transfer function to fit complex data both in amplitude and phase.
