Abstract

A locally refined multigrid method for solving the steady Euler equations of gas dynamics is presented. The method makes use of grids in a locally nested sequence. It is briefly described and next applied to some steady Euler flow problems. The method appears to be more accurate and more efficient than the corresponding multigrid method that applies global refinements only.
