Abstract

An anal. study has revealed the applicability to a boiling-Na system of existing phys.-math. formulations for the performance characteristics of a boiling-water system under steady or transient conditions. The relatively large difference in phys. properties do not present any barrier in applying the theoretical models that have been developed for water system to liq. Na. The liq. superheat does not have any effect on the performance characteristics. Theoretical models developed for water systems can be applied to liq. systems where the effect of liq. superheat is to be taken into account when appreciable amts. of superheats occur
