Abstract

Increased flow of capacitive reactive power (CRP) from distribution grid to transmission grid is a cause of concern for system operators. One of such concerns is how this CRP flow affects the voltage and line losses of the system. Furthermore, reactive power flow at the T-D interfaces is limited by gid codes. In this paper the analysis is done for a MV network in DIgSILENT Power Factory to show how changing load characteristics impact the system parameters and flow of reactive power at T-D interfaces.
